What does this dialogue mean in Dune (2021)?

Question

In Dune (2021), the Reverend Mother asks Paul,

Do you dream things that happen just as you dream them?

What does this question mean? Is this like a dream of a dream? I'm lost here, can someone please explain?

Answer

The Dune book, by Frank Herbert, makes it clear. Below is the original quote.

“Tell me truly now, Paul, do you often have dreams of things that happen afterward exactly as you dreamed them?”

I found it confusing wording in the movie as well, but this is what it means. She is basically asking Paul if he can see the future in his dreams.

I'm gonna guess people at EL&U stack weren't sure if the meaning of this was grammar-based or plot-based. It is simply weird grammar.
